The Timberwolves let a 23-point lead slip away during a 129-123 overtime loss against the Chicago Bulls at United Center. The Wolves were outscored 68-46 in the second half, but Karl-Anthony Towns hit a game-tying three in the final minute to send the game to OT. The Wolves managed just eight points in the extra period. Anthony Edwards had 38 points in the losing effort, and Karl-Anthony Towns finished with 33. Minnesota is tied for second place in the Western Conference at 35-and-16. Minnesota visits Milwaukee tomorrow.
The Wild return from the All-Star break with a game against the Chicago Blackhawks at United Center tonight. The Wild are coming off a 3-2 loss to Anaheim in their most recent game on January 27th. Minnesota is in seventh place in the Central Division with 47 points and a 21-23-and-5 record. Tonight's game starts at 8:30PM.
The Minnesota Gophers are on a three-game winning streak after a 59-56 victory over Michigan State at Williams Arena. The Gophers outscored Michigan State 32-24 in the second half and took the lead for good when Dawson Garcia knocked down a go-ahead three with under 90 seconds left in regulation. Cam Christie scored 19 points in the victory. Minnesota is tied for fourth place in the Big Ten with a 6-and-5 conference record and a 15-and-7 mark overall. The Gophers visit Iowa on Sunday.
The Bucks have lost four of their last five games following a 114-106 loss to the Suns in Phoenix. Giannis Antetokounmpo led all scorers with 34 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for a double-double. The superstar added six assists, while Khris Middleton scored six points before leaving with a sprained ankle. Milwaukee is second in the Central at 33-and-18 and will host the Timberwolves tomorrow night.
College basketball returns tonight. Number-9 Wisconsin is 16-and-6 visits Michigan. Elsewhere, the Milwaukee Panthers are 12-and-11 and visit Youngstown State tomorrow night. Number-7 Marquette is 17-and-5 and hosts St. John's on Saturday.
