The Timberwolves have punched their ticket to the Western Conference Finals. Minnesota advanced to its first conference final since 2004 with a 98-90 win over the defending champion Denver Nuggets in Game Seven at Ball Arena. The Wolves trailed by 20 early in the third quarter before outscoring Denver 60-32 the rest of the way. Jaden McDaniels and Karl-Anthony Towns scored a team-high 23 points apiece. Anthony Edwards finished with 16 points, eight boards, and seven assists. The T-Wolves will play the Dallas Mavericks in the next round. Game One of the WCF is set for Wednesday in Minneapolis.
The Minnesota Twins are on a six-game losing streak following a 5-2 loss to the Cleveland Guardians at Progressive Field. The Twins tied the game at two on an error in the top of the ninth, but Will Brennan launched a three-run walk-off home run in the next half-inning to give Cleveland the win. Jose Miranda went deep in the losing effort, and Jhoan Duran was charged with his second loss out of the bullpen. The Twins are in third place in the AL Central at 24-and-22.
