Trevor Larnach homered with three RBI after Simeon Woods Richardson started with five scoreless innings, and the Minnesota Twins beat the Seattle Mariners 10-1 on Thursday after a rain delay of 4 hours and 22 minutes.

Brooks Lee led off an eight-run sixth against reliever Zach Pop with a home run. Then came RBI doubles from Byron Buxton and Willi Castro, a two-run single by Carlos Correa and a two-run homer from Matt Wallner in the highest-scoring inning for the Twins since a nine-run outburst in the first at New York on April 13, 2023.

Woods Richardson (3-4) produced a superb follow-up to the six scoreless innings Joe Ryan threw in a 2-0 victory on Wednesday, helping the Twins (39-42) win consecutive games for the first time since taking three straight from June 3-5. They lost 15 of 18 after that.

The Twins start a three-game series at MLB-leading Detroit on Friday, considering an opener for RHP David Festa (1-2, 6.39) as they did during his last turn in the rotation. RHP Sawyer Gipson-Long (0-0, 4.58) will pitch for the Tigers. 5:30 pm pregame, 6:10 pm game on KWNG & WPVW.

The Colorado Rockies enter the matchup tonight against the Milwaukee Brewers after losing three straight games.

The Rockies are 13-8 in games when they out-hit their opponents. Rockies: TBD; Brewers: Jose Quintana (5-2, 2.98 ERA, 1.40 WHIP, 36 strikeouts).

The Minnesota Timberwolves have agreed in principle to acquire the draft rights to the 45th overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, center Rocco Zikarsky, from the Chicago Bulls in a trade that is expected to be finalized at a later date.

Zikarsky, 7-2, appeared in 20 games for the Brisbane Bullets of the Australian NBL this past season, averaging 4.7 points on 50.0% shooting, 3.5 rebounds and 0.7 blocks in 12.2 minutes per game. The 18-year-old averaged 3.5 points, on 62.0% shooting, 2.0 rebounds and 1.0 blocks in 29 games for the Bullets during the 2023-24 season.
