Kirill Kaprizov led the Minnesota Wild past the Arizona Coyotes in a 4-1 win at the Xcel Energy Center. Kaprizov opened the scoring with a goal in the first period, and he assisted on Ryan Hartman's go-ahead goal in the second. In the third, he sealed the win with an empty-netter. Marcus Foligno also scored in the victory. The Wild are on a five-game point streak. They're in fifth place in the Central Division with 71 points and a 32-27-and-7 record. Minnesota hosts Anaheim tomorrow.
The Minnesota Timberwolves overcame a big deficit to beat the Los Angeles Clippers 118-100 at Crypto-dot-com Arena. The Wolves were down by 22 in the second quarter before outscoring Los Angeles 83-43 the rest of the way. Anthony Edwards poured in 37 points in the victory, while Nickeil Alexander-Walker had 28 off the bench. Minnesota remains in third place in the Western Conference with a 45-and-21 record.
The Minnesota Timberwolves have an official time-table for Karl-Anthony Towns' recovery from a meniscus tear in his left knee. The Wolves forward had surgery to repair the tear yesterday, and the team announced that he will be re-evaluated in four weeks. The Wolves expect Towns to be ready to go for the Western Conference playoffs next month.
The Minnesota Twins managed just one hit during a 1-0 Spring Training loss against the Detroit Tigers at Publix Field. Alex Kirilloff was the only Twin to record a base knock. Joe Ryan was charged with the loss after striking out six and giving up one run on three hits in four innings. The Bucks ended their road trip on a low note following a 129-94, blowout loss to the Kings in Sacramento. Giannis Antetokounmpo led all scorers with 30 points and grabbed 13 rebounds for a double-double. Damian Lillard struggled his way to 10 points on just 2-of-12 shooting. Milwaukee is still first in the Central Division at 42-and-24 and will host the 76ers tomorrow night.
The Brewers suffered a walk-off loss to the Cubs in a spring training game from Mesa. The score was tied 5-5 until Patrick Wisdom blasted a solo home run to win the game for Chicago. James Meeker gave up walk-off homer and got saddled with the loss. The Brewers are now 7-and-11 in exhibition play and will host the White Sox this afternoon.
