Community Education & Recreation's two week Young Peoples' Summer Theatre Intensive program will conclude Friday with performances for the public at 4 and 7 pm in the Twin Bluff Middle School auditorium.
In addition to acting in the performance (and possibly lending musical talents to the show), young people learn and grow in their knowledge and experience of the many aspects of stage production.
Students in grades 5-12 are responsible for the set design, costumes, props, backstage crew, sound, lights and publicity.
Free will donation at the performance to support youth theatre opportunities.
This years play, Adapted and Destroyed is a one-act absurd comedy that runs about 40 minutes.
The plot involves around a bedtime story about a bunny that Mary’s mom used to tell her every night. A pretty weird one (with way more digressions about mortgage rates than you’d ever expect in a children's story).
The plot thickens when Mary’s mom dies, Bouncy Bunny became a way for Mary to remember her. So one day she decided to write it all down.
Julie Martin, a Red Wing teacher, is supervising and directing.
