Red Wing Structure Fire

The Red Wing Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire in the 2200 block of Langsdorf Avenue in Red Wing Friday around 12:47 pm.
Firefighters arrived on scene within three minutes of the call and found a residential house with light smoke showing.
Crews immediately began fire suppression efforts and the incident was brought under control within 10 minutes. Personnel remained on scene for an additional two hours to complete the overhaul and confirm the fire was fully extinguished.
There were no injuries reported. The building sustained minor damage. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Mutual aid assistance was provided by the Ellsworth Fire Department and the Lake City Fire Department.
Ellsworth Ambulance provided city coverage during the response.
While this incident was being managed, the Red Wing Fire Department also responded to one additional emergency call for service.
The Red Wing Fire Department would like to remind residents that working smoke alarms save lives and cut the risk of dying in a home fire in half.
Smoke alarms should be installed and maintained in every home.
