Red Wing Songwriter Nominated for Award

Joe Bigalke of Red Wing was recently nominated for a prestigious songwriting award by the Nashville Songwriters Association.

Bigalke says his song, "Friend Above All", came about after being inspired by the cross at a local church during a sunset.

Bigalke says with he worked with a professional songwriter in Nashville to get advice on arrangements.

Bigalke works at the Red Wing Family YMCA and is student at the Universal Music Center. His song, which is performed by fellow students Anna Filkins and Mark Woerpel, will be played during the Center’s 10th Anniversary on the grounds of the Anderson Center from 2 pm – 4 pm on Sunday.

Joe will be leaving for Nashville for the award ceremony March 31st.
