Six Red Wing students and their chaperone are enjoying the experience of a lifetime as part of the annual exchange trip with our sister city, Ikata, Japan.
The group left on July 18 and toured Japan before arriving in Ikata for their homestay, where they fully immersed themselves in Japanese culture.
They returned and are now hosting students from Ikata until Saturday, packing their days with fun activities, including tours, this past Sunday’s River City Days parade, and a trip to the Mall of America.
If that sounds like an amazing adventure to you, the Ikata Exchange Program is looking for students and a chaperone for next year's trip.
For more information, go to https://www.redwingmn.gov/ and type in Ikata Exchange Program in the search.

This sounds like a really cool way for people to experience another community and learn about different cultures firsthand. Programs like this can be especially valuable for students and young adults.
