The Red Wing School Board met Tuesday night and voted 6 to 1 to require all spectators of sports and other events inside the school to mask up while now allowing high school students involved in indoor practices, performances, and games to go mask free.
Superintendent, Karsten Anderson, told the board the change in policy will go along with other schools in the BIG 9.
Anderson addressed the criteria in which the masking policy could change.
Board Chair Pam Roe, who cast the lone no vote, said she doesn’t think kids will want to attend events if they need to wear masks.
The board decided to postpone the vote on the criteria for adjusting the mask policy for further discussion.
