The period for filing affidavits of candidacy for the Red Wing School Board opens today (August 2) and will close Tuesday, August 16.
People may file their paperwork and pay the $2 filing fee at the District Office from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays and until 5 p.m. Aug. 16.
The general election will be Tuesday, November 8, when voters will elect three members to serve four-year terms.
The terms of Jim Bryant, Arlen Diercks and Holly Tauer are expiring.
The District Office has information packets available for anyone interested in running.
A candidate must be an eligible voter, must be 21 years of age or more on assuming office, must have been a resident of the school district from which the candidate seeks election for 30 days before the General Election.
