The Red Wing School Board met Tuesday, February 22nd and made several revisions to their COVID rules.
The mask mandate has been lifted, masks are now optional/recommended in all buildings. Masks remain required when on school buses or in district vehicles.
The household quarantine has been dropped, students and staff who test for COVID-19 must stay home and isolate. No one needs to quarantine after being close contact with an infected individual but people should monitor for symptoms.
In other business, the school board approved resurfacing the RWHS tennis courts and the track this summer, revised the 2021-2022 budget up from about $44 million to $47 million, reflecting additional federal funds and changes in staffing and benefits.
The board also followed up the February 16th public forum during the workshop prior to the regular meeting and reviewed the potential grade configurations for 2022-2023.
