
The first phase in the search by Red Wing Public Schools for a permanent superintendent has been completed.
The District reports during community engagement opportunities January 6-26, 318 people completed the Superintendent Search Survey and 209 people attended listening sessions. Participants included students, parents, guardians, staff, civic leaders, business owners, manufacturers and community members.
Applications for superintendent will close Sunday, February 19th and the search team will begin reviewing candidate applications on the 20th. The Minnesota School Boards Association will summarize that input and present it to the board in a special session on February 23.
On March 6, the School Board will meet to select finalists to interview and finalize interview questions. March 9, the they will hold a special session to conduct the first round of interviews. They will hold a second round of interviews March 13th and select a lone finalist. All interviews are open to the public.
The board intends to name the finalist on March 14 or 15 and have School Board designees begin to negotiate a contract.
The School Board will approve a contract March 20 and have the superintendent start July 1.
