Red Wing HRA Housing Needs

Red Wing has long had a shortage of housing available to rent or buy but the city is excited about several projects that will help alleviate the problem.

Housing and Redevelopment Authority Executive Director, Kurt Keena, says their mission is to provide quality, affordable, sustainable housing and community redevelopment programs, but the city needs housing options for all types of incomes.

Some of the housing projects in the works include a redevelopment project on the corner of Bush and W. 3rd streets that will bring a mix of housing units and new retail to the property, and plans to convert the former St. Joseph's Church auxiliary building at 480 Eighth Street into six market-rate apartments.
