The Red Wing Fire Department is now accepting applications for Paid-on-call Firefighters until May 20th.

Gabe Kinney is a Pain On Call Captain for Hose Company #4, and says Saturday, May 11, the Department will have live fire training at the training tower, Station 2, 4880 Moundview Drive. The training on Saturday is also an open house for anyone interested in joining the Department as a Paid-on-call Firefighter.

Kinney says this position performs emergency work in protecting life and property from fire and other hazards, the treatment of emergency medicals problems, and emergency rescue.
Requirements include, candidates must reside and respond to calls within a 20-minute response area from Fire Station # 1, possess a high school diploma or equivalent, and must possess a valid driver’s license issued in the state of residence.
