Red Wing Fire Dept Free CO Alarms

Eight Minnesota fire departments will be receiving free carbon monoxide (CO) alarms to install in homes in their communities.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office is kicking off the event with the Rochester Fire Department.

Other cities receiving free C-O alarms are Red Wing, Austin, Bemidji, Brainerd, Duluth, Virginia, and Willmar.  

The free C-O alarms will be handed out thanks to a federal grant.

Firefighters will install the alarms free of charge in homes and educate residents about C-O poisoning and prevention.
