Red Wing firefighters will soon have another tool whenever they're on a call.
The Red Wing City Council last week approved accepting a $10,000 grant from Red Wing's Archer Daniels Midland manufacturing plant.
Fire Chief Mike Warner says the grant will allow the department to purchase individual thermal imaging cameras to help firefighters locate potential victims in a number of situations.
Bill Simmons with ADM told the Red Wing City Council that last years small fire took all day to put out which indicated a need to upgrade the departments equipment.
Chief Warner says the the new individual cameras will be assigned to specific firefighters during their shift.
