Red Wing Fire




The Red Wing Fire Department was dispatched to a report of smoke inside a residence in the 1700 Block of Old West Main Street in Red Wing Friday at 5:31 pm.


Fire department personnel arrived on the scene within 3 minutes of receiving the call and found heavy smoke coming from the home.


Crews confirmed all occupants were out of the home and made entry to locate and extinguish the fire. The fire was under control within 10 minutes of arrival and crews spent a significant amount of time overhauling and searching for hot spots.


One occupant was evaluated by paramedics on the scene and was treated and released.


The residence sustained significant damage to the living area of the home. The home was left uninhabitable. The cause of the fire is under investigation.


Mutual aid assistance was provided on scene by Ellsworth Fire, Lake City Fire, Hastings Fire, and Cannon Falls Fire, and Ellsworth Ambulance provided on-scene medical support.


Red Wing Police Department, Red Wing Public Works, Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office Dispatchers, and Xcel Energy assisted with this incident.
