Red Wing City Council Recap

At the last Red Wing City Council meeting the Council unanimously directed Public Works staff to meet with Mayor Iocco, Council Member Lambert, and the dog park resident group at the Bench Street site, across from the tannery, to tour the area and discuss pros and cons of the location as a possible future dog park.
The current concept includes an approximately two-acre dog park consisting of a 1.5-acre large-dog area and a 0.5-acre small-dog area. The preliminary dog park development estimate is $234,300.
The Council approved (7-0) a development agreement with Habitat for Humanity for the first phase of the Hope Heights housing subdivision.
The project includes six single-family homes and 10 twin homes between West Fourth and Fifth streets, adjacent to Washington Street. Work is planned to start this fall and be completed by the end of next summer.
Council President Farrar provided an update on negotiations with Finance Director Marshall Hallock and shared that Hallock will continue working in his current role for the City indefinitely. No vote was necessary.
