Several members of the Red Wing City Council recently attended the League of Minnesota Cities Conference, and Don Kliewer and Vicki Jo Lambert both attended a meeting that went over legislation that will soon make marijauna legal in the state.
Kliewer says to him, it seems like the legislature left out a lot of important details, things like how can it be legal to possess but still not legal to purchase it for well over a year.
Kliewer says the new law will make things more difficult for law enforcement not to mention federal laws have not changed, pot is still illegal.
Minnesota has become the 23rd state in the nation to legalize cannabis use for people 21 and older.
