The Red Wing City Council will meet today at 5:30 pm for a budget workshop to identify capital, operating, and service reductions to meet the proposed 2023 levy.
City Council and staff will be reviewing ways to meet the 0% levy goal that was set with the preliminary levy in September.
Staff has identified over $1 million in possible reductions for Council consideration. The reductions are in capital items for 2023, staffing and service reductions, and other possible expenditures.
The final budget will be voted on December 5th when they hold a Truth in Taxation hearing.
Members of the public are encouraged to attend and provide comment on the 2023 budget and levy.
