The Red Wing Fire Department received a call Saturday at 7:16 am reporting a fire alarm activation at the ADM plant in the 100 block of Lagrange Street in Red Wing.
Upon arriving, firefighters found smoke and ungraded the alarm to a structure fire response.
Firefighters were on the scene within one minute of receiving the call and they found smoldering material in the processing area of the plant. Firefighters worked with the staff to isolate the processing line and to ensure there was no fire spreading to the rest of the plant.
Red Wing was assisted by Ellsworth and Miesville Fire Departments, Ellsworth Ambulance, Goodhue County Sheriffs Dispatch, as well as Red Wing Police.
Red Wing Fire Department units were already engaged in one emergency medical call at the time of dispatch for this incident.
