The City of Red Wing’s Sustainability Commission's new Red Wing Bag Share program hopes to provide another alternative to paper or plastic.
Last week, bagholders stocked with reusable bags were set up at Koplin's Village Market, Buchanan Grocery, and Big Dawg's Meat Market.
Anyone needing a bag can pick one up to carry their purchases home in.
Participants are encouraged to clean and return the bags on their next visit – or even donate some of their own reusable bags if they've been sitting around collecting dust.
The program's current inventory totals almost 600 bags, 200 of which were donated by Koozie Group.
Businesses interested in participating or donating bags of their own are encouraged to reach out to the Sustainability Commission at 651-385-5137.
