Red Wing Arts Pottery Throwdown




Red Wing Arts Clay & Creative Center, 436 W. 3rd Street, is holding a unique fundraiser Saturday, May 18, starting at 10 am.


Watch as professional potters and local celebrities face off, undertaking a series of challenges on the wheel that promise to entertain and inspire during the RWA Pottery Throwdown.


First round of competition ($50 per ticket), from 10 am – noon, wil feature Celebrity Potters: Bryan Soper (YMCA) , Alison Youngs (Salon With A Twist), Michelle Larson (Red Wing Area Chamber), Mayor Mike Wilson.

 

The second round of competition ($50 per ticket) runs from 2 - 4 pm and will more Celebrity Potters, including Becky Norton (Red Wing City Council) Greg Taylor from KWNG & KCUE radio, and more.

 

The excitement culminates from 6 - 9 pm with the finals, where the day's top talents will vie for the coveted traveling clay trophy and ultimate bragging rights. $150 per ticket, includes drinks, lite hors d'oeuvres, a live auction, and live music by The Tennessee Stiffs. Featuring Professional Potters: Jeff McDowell, Colleen Riley, Donovan Palmquist, and Kelly Connole.

 

Artists Tom Larkin & Glynnis Lessing will judge the event.
