Red Wing Advisory Commissions

High-school-age students in Red Wing can now take an even more active role in their local government.
The Red Wing City Council recently approved allowing 9th- through 12th-graders to serve as voting members on four City advisory commissions.
The Arts & Culture Commission, Human Rights Commission, Sister Cities Commission, and Sustainability Commission can each have one voting student member, if the student is approved, just like other nominees.
Each of the four advisory commissions has at least one vacancy, so if you know a student looking to grow their civic involvement, encourage them to apply for a voting seat today.
Go to https://www.redwingmn.gov/Â and click on the Government tab.
And remember, ALL boards and commissions welcome advisory non-voting student members anytime, and those seats are always available.
