The Red Wing Fire Department received a call Friday at 5:15 am reporting a fire at ADM in the 100 block of Lagrange Street, in Red Wing.
Firefighters were on the scene within two minutes of receiving the call.and found smoke emitting from a silo area.
Firefighters worked with the staff to isolate the processing line and to ensure there was no fire spreading to the rest of the plant. A total of 27 firefighters worked at the scene for about two hours.
Red Wing was assisted on scene by Ellsworth with a fire engine and Lake City with a ladder truck. Ellsworth Ambulance provided station coverage with an Ambulance.
Goodhue County Sheriff's Dispatch, as well as Red Wing Police, assisted on the scene.
While this incident was ongoing, the Red Wing Fire Department received one additional emergency medical call that was handled by the Hastings Fire Department.
