Red Wing’s Port Authority continues to work on proposals for projected that would be built on city owned property at the junction of Highways 61 and 19.
Community Development Director, Kyle Klatt, says Bluewater Farms Hatchery is one of two proposals they have received.
The walleye project would involve not only a walleye hatchery but also aquaponics plants products and bring about 30 jobs to the area initially.
Klatt says things are moving forward but there is still work to be done, including an archaeological study and getting MnDot right of way issues resolved.
Representatives from Bluewater Farms Hatchery is scheduled to give the Port Authority a full presentation during their workshop Wednesday, July 19th at 4 pm. Klatt did not mention what the other proposal is for.
