‘Playground of Paws-Abilities’ Project

PEM School Board members on August 10th heard from Finance Director Jan Sackreiter who said a payment of $421,000 is needed before the School Board’s meeting in September for the ‘Playground of Paws-Abilities’ project at the PreK-3 building.

Roger Rahman said the Plainview Lions Club is set to make a donation for the all-inclusive playground, which will replace aging playground equipment.

According to the Plainview News, discussion was held on whether to hold a special School Board meeting to address the project invoice and accept the Lions’ donation.

The Board agreed to pay the invoice and allow the School District to reimburse itself when funds are received from the Elaine Paske Estate. Paske, a former PEM paraprofessional, left her estate to the Elementary School.

Rahman said the Paske funds and the Lions donation will pay for the entire playground project, except for parking lot drainage details.
