Plainview’s City Council on June 10 approved a motion authorizing staff to work with the city’s municipal finance advisor with David Drown Associates to issue general obligation (‘GO’) bonds to finance a new elevated water tank, rehabilitation of the existing water storage tank, and well modifiations.
The City of Plainview entered a scope of services contract in December 2024 with engineering consultants Bolton and Menk, of Rochester, for services to construct a new 100,000-gallon above-ground storage tank and rehabilitate an existing 500,000-gallon storage tank.
The Plainview News reports City Administrator David Todd says the new elevated storage tank will dissipate entrained gas from city well No. 3 before the water is released into the distribution system.
The scope of services includes design, bidding, and funding assistance.
Funding sources include financing from the Public Finance Authority and/or local financing local general obligation bonds.
