Pine Island Farmers Market POP

The Power of Produce (POP) program has kicked off for the season as of last week at the Pine Island Farmers Market. Kids ages 4-12 can register at the Market’s Chamber of Commerce table to receive a $2 token to purchase fresh produce or fruit from a Market vendor. Children can receive a token each week and use the token or hold the token to use at a later date.

The program will run until October or when POP funds are depleted. The Power of Produce Club was created to empower kids to make healthy food choices and supports local growers.

July 9th also kicked-off of the monthly Gift Basket Giveaways at the Market. Visitors can enter to win a well-stocked gift basket at each vendor’s booth weekly throughout the month. Drawings are done at the last Market of each month throughout the season

The Pine Island Farmers Market is sponsored by the Pine Island Area Chamber of Commerce and runs Fridays from 3-7 p.m in the grassy park behind Island Market. Vendors offer a wide variety of goods: fresh produce, home canned goods, artisan crafts, and so much more. Restroom facilities, playground equipment, and a bike tune up station are also available in the Trailhead Park area.
