Several local organizations were recently provided grants from the People’s Energy Cooperative Operation Round Up Trust Board.
The Plainview News reports the Board provided a total of $22,150 in grants to: The Plainview Area History Center, $2,000 to lift and level the front walkway. Immanuel Lutheran School in Plainview, $2,000 for updated math curriculum.
Olmsted County 4-H, $500 for Fall Festival tickets.
St. Charles Public Library, $500 to establish a Library of Things.
And Elder Network, $500 to help expand access to technology. The nonprofit serves Wabasha, Winona, and Olmsted County.
The People’s Energy Cooperative Trust – Operation Round Up fund, established in 2002, grants funds to charitable, educational, community, and youth-related programs and events.
The program is funded by donations made by members of Oronoco-based People’s Energy Cooperative who voluntarily have their monthly electric bill rounded up to the nearest dollar.
Applications must be submitted any Sept. 20 to be considered for fourth quarter grants in 2025.
Program guidelines and applications are available at www.peoplesenergy.coop/operation-round-up or by calling the Cooperative (800) 214-2694.
