PEM School Levy Passed

PEM School Board members recently approved a 2025 payable 2026 tax levy of $3,753,269, a 3.62 percent increase from 2025.

Superintendent Courtney Frie provided an overview of the school levy process during a Truth in Taxation hearing, noting that the levy is set by voters and the State legislature.

Frie discussed how property taxes are determined and identified sources of general funds across the state.

She said funding will trail inflation by $1,470 per pupil in fiscal 2026.

Frie said the PEM School District gets a boost from the Ag2School tax credit, which will remain at 70 percent in 2026.

The credit applies to all current and future school construction bonds and operating levies.

Revenue for Ag2 School comes from state income, sales and other tax revenue.
