PEM School Board members held a special meeting on May 13 regarding the search for a new Superintendent.
Â
Current superintendent Darrin Strosahl, who has served the school district since 2022, announced in April that he was hired as executive director of the St. Cloud-based Minnesota Rural Education Association; he will serve at PEM through June 30.
Â
School Board members met with John Ward, Associate Director of Leadership Development and Executive Search for the Minnesota School Boards Association (MSBA), and discussed candidate interview questions and procedures, and interview training.
Â
According to the Plainview News, MSBA, based in St. Peter, will help guide the PEM School Board in hiring an interim superintendent.
Â
It’s hoped that an interim candidate can be hired before July 1 for the 2024-2025 school year.

School Board members discussed the 2024-2025 budget during their regular meeting last week.
