PEM Playground Project

Fundraising continues for a new PEM Elementary School all-inclusive, Bulldog-themed ‘Playground of Paws-Abilities’.

Plainview Lions Club member Julie Harrington says the idea of the playground had it’s start 10 years ago by a fellow Lions Club member.

Harrington says the planned all-inclusive playground is a 7,500-square-foot space with accessible equipment, including a wheelchair-accessible ‘Sway Fun’ glider and ‘We-go-Round’.

The goal is to make about $1,000,000 in improvements to the current playground, with the equipment itself costing roughly $750,000.

It’s hoped the project can be funded completely through donations and can be open sometime in 2026.
