For the past several weeks, the commuity has been supporting PEM Community Schools in spreading joy this season.
The High School Student Council has been hosting a toy drive to support the Childhood Cancer Community (CCC), a nonprofit organization that serves the needs of families battling childhood cancer.
Jessica Aarsvold, with the PEM Student Council, says their goal was to collect 100 presents by this week for their holiday event.
Shanna (Decker) Lunasin, Founder of Childhood Cancer Community, says she was diagnosed with a rare, high grade bone cancer at the age of 7, and after years of mentoring youth and speaking engagements started CCC.
Lunasin says the big toy event takes place in Rochester Sunday and the PEM Student Council really made a positive difference with their toy drive.
