Red Wings Old West Main Street project is continuing to progress.
All the concrete footings for the streetlights, lighted bollards, entry monuments and kiosk have been poured. The contractor has completed the prep work of all the landscape beds allowing for the planting of the trees and shrubs to start this week.
The concrete subcontractor is scheduled to complete the rest of the concrete at the bridge plaza and complete the other half of the colored crosswalks this week.
The roadway is expected to be fully reopened by end of the day Friday.
The closure of Jackson Street from Old West Main to Levee Road is scheduled to start on Wednesday for an unknown length of time to allow for the installation of a new underground watermain underneath the RR tracks and construction of the new concrete pavement connecting into the roundabout.
Also, the closure of the alley between Washington St and Jefferson is scheduled for Monday, September 26th to allow for completion of the new storm sewer and bituminous pavement.
