Nothing is more majestic than seeing a bald eagle in flight.
However, as Ed Hahn, Director of Marketing and Communications at the National Eagle Center, explains, flying is not something that eagles really enjoy.
They are designed to be perching birds and it takes a tremendous amount of energy to fly. They prefer to sit and wait to spot a fish, bird, rabbitt, or other prey.
Hahn says when you do see an eagle flying around you can bet it’s most likely looking for it’s next meal.
