The National Eagle Center is celebrating our National Bird and Symbol, the Bald Eagle, and its remarkable recovery from endangerment this month and the public is invited.
On Saturday, June 21, the Center will host Bald Eagle Celebration: Honoring Our Nation’s Symbol and Bird.
This year’s Bald Eagle Day celebrations are the first since it was officially declared the National Bird by Congress and signed into law in December 2024.
Guests will be able to partake in the festivities which will include a flag-raising ceremony conducted by Wabasha’s American Legion Post #50 and VFW Post #4068, FREE public live eagle programs at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. in the Riverfront Amphitheater, and special live minnow enrichment for the Eagle Ambassadors.
The Wabasha Lions will also have a food stand offering guests a quick and convenient lunch.
Families with children will be able to enjoy arts and crafts, eagle button-making, summer bird search, sidewalk games, and check out the brand-new kids’ area in the Main Street Program Center.
