On Saturday, October 26, Minnesota State College Southeast is once again hosting Gamehaven Council’s Fall Merit Badge Rally at the college’s Winona campus (1250 Homer Road, Winona).
The merit badge program is designed to teach Scouts about a wide variety of topics, with the hopes they’ll discover new interests, new hobbies, or maybe even a future career.
The one-day event attracts more 150 Scouts to earn badges in 21 different subject areas, ranging from Automotive Technology to Woodworking.
The day begins at 8 am with a flag ceremony, followed by morning merit badge classes from 8:30-11 am and afternoon classes from 1-4 pm.
Gamehaven Scouts come from across southeastern Minnesota, including Olmsted, Fillmore, Dodge, Goodhue, Steele, Wabasha and Winona counties to participate in the Merit Badge Rally.
Several instructors from the college are volunteering their time to work with the Scouts in on badges related to trade and technical fields.
Automotive Maintenance, Electronics, Truck Transportation, Welding, and Woodworking will be taught by MSC Southeast faculty members.
