
Water levels on the Mississippi River continue to fall and most places are now either under minor flood stage or will be by early next week.
According to the National Weather Service, the Mississippi at Lock and Dam 2 at Hastings was at 15.4 ft Thursday, falling to under minor flood level, 15 ft, today, and is expected to be at 14 ft by Monday.
Red Wing’s measurement as of yesterday stood at 12.9 ft, under minor flood stage, and is forecast to fall to 11 ft by Monday.
The river at Lake City is already under the minor flood level, 15.4 ft, and is predicted to drop to just under 14 ft by Monday.
Wabasha is measured at 13.3 ft and is expected to fall to 12 ft, which is the minor flood mark, by Monday.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, has now reopened all the Mississippi River locks and dams between Hastings to Guttenberg, Iowa to all commercial and recreational traffic
