The flood level on the Mississippi River is cresting and expected to level off and start to recede this week. Â
According to the National Weather Service, the river at Hastings below Lock and Dam 2 was still at major flood stage of 19.3 feet as of this morning (Monday) and is expected to slowy fall to 17.9 feet, below major flood level by Wednesday night and under moderate flood stage of 16.8 feet by Friday.

Red Wing’s measurement stood at 15.72 feet as of Sunday is expected to crest this morning at 15.9 feet. The flood level is forecast to fall under moderate stage, 14.8 feet, by Thursday and under minor flood stage, 14 feet by Saturday. Â

The river at Lake City was at still at minor flood stage of 17.4 Â feet as of Sunday night and is expected to slowly fall all week to under minor flood level, 16 feet, by Saturday.
