Minnesota Tax Rebate Checks

Governor Tim Walz Wednesday announced that Minnesotans will start getting tax rebate checks as early as this week.

The payments are up to $1,300 per household, $260 for individual filers, which amounts to $5 a week for a year, or $520 for married couples along with another $260 apiece for up to three dependents.

Minnesotans with a gross adjusted income of up to $75,000 in 2021 are eligible. They will not have to apply for the rebates.

Minnesota surplus of well over 17.5 billion dollars was all spent by this years legislature.

Last summer, the DFL governor expressed his support for what he called “Walz Checks”, but that idea was quickly shot down by fellow Democrats and Republicans.
