Red Wing Aces 6 Miesville Mudhens 0

The Aces turned in a great performance on July 4th in front of a big crowd at "The Ath" to knock off the rival Mudhens in a CCVL matchup.

Red Wing scored a run in the first inning when Reid Hartmann doubled and scored on a double by Zach Harding. The Aces added two runs in the third inning. Zach Harding walked, Nick Azar singled and Josh Thygesen cracked a two double to right field to put Red Wing up 3-0.

Zach Harding singled and scored later in the seventh inning on Nick Azar's sacrafice fly to make it a 4-0 game. The Aces closed out the scoring in the eighth inning. Cooper Chandler walked, Brodie Gibart reached on a two out error and Zach Harding's booming double to right center field scored Chandler and Gibart to make it 6-0.

Zach Harding led the Aces offense by going 4-5 with two runs scored and three RBI.

Drew Ball pitched seven innings and allowed just three hits and three walks while striking out 12 Hens to get the win. "The Big Unit" Aaron Johnson pitched the final two innings for Red Wing and pitched out of a bases loaded nobody out jam in the ninth inning. Johnson struck out Brandon Baldock and got a double play grounder from Shannon Ahern to wrap it up.

Brody Illa took the loss for Miesville. The Mudhens are 15-3 and saw a 12 game winning streak end.

The Aces are 13-6 and have won six straight games.
