Red Wing Aces 12 Cannon Falls Bears 2 (7 innings)-The Aces sent the fans home a couple of innings early with the 10 run rule win over the Bears at The Red Wing Athletic Field.
Red Wing Scored two runs in the first inning as Brodie Gibart singled and Reid Hartmann was hit by a pitch. Gibart scored a sacrafice fly by Dixon Irwin and Hartmann scored on an RBI single by Marcus Walm. Cannon Falls scored their only two runs in the top of the second inning against Aces pitcher Aaron Johnson on a solo home run by Nolan Conzemius. Back to back errors later in the inning put two men on base for the Bears and Jay Burr's sacrafice fly scored Pete Haggerty to make it 2-2.
The ending came out of the blue. Red Wing Scored six runs in the fifth inning on five hits, a walk and two Bears errors to lead 8-2 and chased starting pitcher Tyler Johnson in the process. The Aces added four more runs in the sixth inning with an RBI single by Reid Hartmann and a two run double from Abe Reinitz capping the scoring.
Aaron Johnson tossed a seven inning complete game for Red Wing, allowing five hits and two runs (one earned) with three walks and six strike outs. Tyler Johson was the losing pitcher for Cannon Falls. Johnson went 4 1/3 innings and gave up seven runs (five earned) with one walk and two strike outs.
Abe Reinitz led the Aces with three hits and four RBI. Marcus Walm and two hits and two RBI. Tyler Rodgers and Colter Hegge added two hits apiece.
The Aces are 19-7 overall and have won five straight games and 12 of their last 13 games overall. Cannon Falls is 21-9 on the season.
The Aces play at River Falls Wednesday while Cannon Falls hosts the Rochester Royals.
The Aces and Bears meet in a rematch Friday at 7:30pm at John Burch Park in Cannon Falls on Bluff Country 1250 KCUE/KCUE 99FM and www.kcueradio.com.
