Red Wing Aces 3 North St. Paul Snowmen 2-The Aces squeaked by the Snowmen on a muggy night at The Athletic Field.
Colter Hegge, the Lake City native making his Aces debut playing right field, had an RBI single in the second inning and Owen Runquist added an rbi single later in the inning to put the Aces up early 2-0.
Aces starting pitcher Jaren Schwantz had a little discomfort in his arm and left the game with two out in the top of the third inning. Aidan O'Brien pitched 6 1/3 innings in relief and allowed just a single run in the fourth and eighth innings to secure the win. O' Brien is now 5-0 on the year and has pitched in 11 of the Aces 17 games.
The Aces final run came in the fifth inning when Tyler Rodgers singled, stole second base and scored on an RBI single by Dixon Irwin. Irwin, Zach Harding and Owen Runqusit had two hits apiece for the Aces, who had 10 hits overall.
The Aces are now 11-6 and have won a season high four straight games.
Colter Hegge is slated to start on the mound tonight against Hampton. It's a makeup game from the rained out game back on June 17
