Mentoring and Inspiring Women in Radio, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization dedicated to the advancement of female leadership in radio broadcasting, has a new national program designed to create mentorship opportunities in every state in the union.
The first pilot program partners MIW with the Minnesota Broadcasters Association to create, “Mentoring and Inspiring Women in Minnesota.” Ava LaRue, Station Manager for Q-Media Group in Red Wing, has been chosen as 2022 Minnesota MIW Mentee.
Ava says she will have a network of like-minded subject matter experts for the next 12 months to help support her as she continues to achieve her career goals.
Ava graduated from Brown College with an Associate in Applied Science in Radio Broadcasting and started her radio career as a morning show co-host in Northwest Iowa in 2012.
Over the last five years, Ava has been in Red Wing and began her steps in management-starting with a promotion to Program Director, to Operations Manager, and now the Station Manager for a cluster of four radio stations with 10 employees.
Ava lives in Lake City with her husband Dustin, their dog Willow and cat Caesar, and are expecting twins later this Summer.
