You are invited to join the Lake City Historical Society Saturday morning, for special Johnny Appleseed Day history events.

A walking tour of S Washington Street departs from the Alliance Bank corner of Washington & Lyon at 9:30.

At 10:30, Chet Miller, retired VP of Operations at Pepin Heights Orchard, will share the story of the Honeycrisp apple and more orchard lore at the Public Library.

Throughout the day, look for them around town sharing slices of Honeycrisp apples and the Lake City story behind the popular fruit and it's all free.
