Lake City Fire Rescue

The Lake City Fire Department rescued a person in Lake City during a Thursday morning house fire.

Lake City Fire Chief Dan Patterson says flames and smoke were coming from the front of the home when crews arrived on scene on North High Street.

People passing by were already trying to get inside the home to provide assistance.

KTTC reports a resident of the home was brought out on the front lawn for emergency medical care and was then transferred by ambulance to a hospital.

The home has heavy smoke damage, but the residence should be salvageable.

The cause of the fire is not known yet.
