Lahammer Kindness 101

A 3^rd grade teacher at Burnside Elementary in Red Wing has been bestowed a national recognition.

Neil Lahammer was named the inaugural Kindness 101 CHARACTER COUNTS National Teacher of the Year.

The announcement was made in January during a visit to his class by CBS journalist Steve Hartman, and culminated with an award ceremony last Friday hosted by Drake University’s Robert D. and Billie Ray Center.

Burnside's Kindness Club has been very popular with the students and staff.

The entire school district and community are very proud of Mr. Lahammer being recognized.
