The 78th Annual Kellogg Watermelon Festival is scheduled for Friday, September 6th through Sunday the 8th.
On Friday the 6th, food vendors, Kellogg Lions BBQ Chicken at the Front porch and the Carnival rides get underway at 5 pm. The 3 day Men’s softball tournament kicks off Friday and the Burn Out Contest is at 7 pm and free fireworks at 9:45 pm.
From 8 pm – midnight it’s Maiden Dixie and a free Hoedown.
Carnival rides open at 11 am Saturday and Sunday.
Saturday’s highlights include the 5k Watermelon Run at 9 am, Antique Tractor Ride at 10 am and at 8 pm Legacy of the Loud performs.
From 1:00-3:00 PM the 4H has their petting zoo and at 2:00 PM the Sawdust Scramble starts. The day ends with the Beer Crawl at 6:00 pm, and The NOW performing for a free street dance at 8:00 pm.
Sunday wraps up with the Car Show from 9 am-1 pm, a pie sale at 10 pm, the 11 am Queens tea, the Grand Parade at 2 pm followed by free watermelon and Kids Tractor Pull.
Southbound Country perform from 4 - 8 pm for a free street dance.
