Hope Coalition Mobile Outreach

Greg Taylor

A local non-profit organization with offices in Red Wing and Wabasha has a new free program that is helping provide basic need items to people.

Hope Coalition’s Mobile Outreach Manager and Program Director, Chasity Steffenhagen, says they rely on the generosity of the community.

The Mobile Outreach is serving rural communities in Wabasha & Goodhue County counties once a month, onsite of the local food shelf. Wabasha County Advocate, Melissa Drenckhahn, says they give out very basic items most people take for granted, basic hygiene and infant supplies, simple clothing and common cleaning supplies.

The current outreach areas are Wabasha, Lake City, Zumbro Falls, Mazeppa and Elgin. The goal is to expand in the communities of Kenyon and Plainview. The next stops for the Mobile stops include:

Mazeppa Food Shelf Thursday, August 10 and September 14 @ 9-11 AM

Lake City Food Shelf, Tuesday, August 8 @1-3 pm and Sept. 12 @ 1-3 PM

Zumbro Falls Food Shelf, Tuesday, August 22 and September 26 @ 11 AM-1 PM

Elgin Food Shelf, August 23 and September 27 @ 10 AM-12 noon

Wabasha Food Share Sept. 4 from 2-4 PM.

Hope Coalition empowers lives affected by domestic violence, child abuse, sexual assault, and homelessness in Goodhue, Wabasha, and parts of Western Pierce County.
